ABOUT US

Meet the
Joseph Family

Johnson is a native of South Florida and was born in a Haitian household. He was raised in the Catholic faith but came to know Christ at the age of 16 through an evangelism ministry that did door to door evangelism. Subsequently, Johnson was baptized upon the profession of his faith. In Florida, Johnson was heavily involved in Christian education, evangelism and youth ministry. He graduated from Fort Lauderdale High school in the pre-law program.

After attempting to pursue a degree in human services, Johnson sensed the Lord calling him to the gospel ministry. After much prayer and counsel, he decided to pursue theological education by moving to Louisville, Ky. In Louisville, Johnson served as an associate minister for eight years where he preached, taught, led, and provided pastoral care in various ways. Currently, Johnson serves as an Elder at Pillar Church. Vocationally, he has spent the past several years working as a teacher. He is happily married to Sandy and is the father to Josiah, Janina and Jairus.

Johnson is a graduate of Boyce College with a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical and Theological studies and completed a Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological seminary. Pastor Johnson desires to humbly shepherd the flock of God by communicating truth and loving well. You can reach Pastor Johnson at johnson@strongtowertc.com

Why Port St. Lucie?

THE CITY

A study revealed that the West Palm Beach to Fort Pierce area is ranked 11th in America’s top churchless cities. Within those cities is the city of Port St. Lucie. Port St. Lucie is in the Treasure Coast region of Florida and ranks as the sixth largest city in the state of Florida with a population size of approximately 220,000 people. Although the city is growing and beautiful, there is a need for more Christ-centered churches that will seek the lost and care for the community.

THE PEOPLE GROUP

The rich history of Haitian people and its culture has saturated South Florida. Florida has approximately 500,000 Haitians. In fact, It is ranked 1st in the country with the most Haitians in the United States. Yet, there is a pressing need for the gospel to be contextualized to the cultural norms of Haitian Americans. Haitians born on American soil need the light of the gospel to shine in their lives in a language they can understand all while affirming their ethnic and cultural background.
